Vienna University of Economics and Business: Vienna - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I LOVED my study abroad experience. I enjoyed Vienna so much. I loved the culture and people. I was just very disappointed with WU-Wien and my courses there. Other than that I would recommend Vienna to everyone who wants to study abroad.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The grades were very confusing here. Each professor had their own grading scale so you had no idea what your grade was going to be. The school did not really help us when it came to choosing classes either.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I had to figure out everything for myself and did not receive much help from the university when I had conflicting class schedules.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I wish I had more of a choice where I was located in Vienna. I was disappointed how far outside the city I was.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

It is an expensive city. Initially it was very expensive to buy cooking supplies. However, after the initial expenses I was able to purchase cheap groceries.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 150 euros
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Shop at Penny and Hofer. Those are two cheap grocery stores. Also cook for yourself when you can because you will save a lot of money.

How much did the program encourage you to use the language?
