I gained so much cultural experience. I lived in England so I experienced that culture directly for an extended time. I also traveled to about 9 different countries, so I experienced all of those cultures. I learned a lot about myself and who I am as a person as I became independent by living abroad for 5 months. I gained a lot of insight into local cultures and the ability to travel by myself. It was great to have a semester with completely different expectations and goals; it was similar to getting a break from normal life. Was it worthwhile? Absolutely. I gained a better understanding of so many different cultures and even a better understanding of mysef and who I am as a person. It was definitely worthwhile! A student - Valparaiso University View Entire Review

You better understand the idea that America is not the center of the world and you are not "all that." You are humbled when you visit a European country and find someone that does not speak English and relieved when you find someone who does. You get to develop independence and gain the skills to travel the world. You have "wow ... Kathleen P - Valparaiso University View Entire Review

I learned a lot about my own identity and others. I learned that although people are different everywhere, we are also very much the same in a lot of ways as well. Koller T - Valparaiso University View Entire Review

Yes, it was worthwhile. I can't really say at this moment all that I gained from it, because I think I will be finding more things I've gained even after I've graduated. Megan K - Valparaiso University View Entire Review
I learned about the English culture, and I learned about other European cultures. The experience also taught me a lot about myself and my abilities, and it was definitely worthwhile. A student - Valparaiso University View Entire Review
I gained the ability to be more adaptable because things will go wrong but that doesn't mean that you won't get a meaningful experience out of it. I learned that there are many more good and trustworthy people out there in the world than there are bad. A student - Valparaiso University View Entire Review
I learned more life lessons and traveling knowledge while abroad. It was very worthwhile! A student - Valparaiso University View Entire Review

I feel that I am definitely a more confident and content person after this experience. I want to go back, but now I feel that I can be happy no matter where I am. I feel less restless. Dannie D - Valparaiso University View Entire Review

I feel more independent and grateful for everything I saw and did. I made an amazing group of close friends and feel very close to our directors. I am more motivated than ever to continue with my plans of teaching in Spain in the future. Alyson R - Valparaiso University View Entire Review
My study abroad experience was very worthwhile...how could it not be? I gained a load of understanding about just how big the world is. There is life outside of America that is enriching and rewarding. SIGN UP AND SEE FOR YOURSELF!!! Chelsea G - Valparaiso University View Entire Review
I would not take back so much as a millisecond of this experience! I have grown and what's more this is not one of those invisible growth spurts but one in which I have watched in awe as my debating skills have expanded, my intellectual curiosity has been stretched and my already high respect and esteem for my fellow students h...
