Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The on-site staff was great and their office was open everyday for us to stop by and chat or get help with anything. They sent us weekly emails of things to do around the area.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My house was in a great location but it didn't have wifi. There are many great houses though in the program depending on where you're placed.

* Food:

Pintxos are small appetizers that everyone has with a beer or a glass of wine in the evening. They have a million varieties and they are all great!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Basque culture is somewhat hard to integrate into at first but I was able to do it since I spoke Spanish.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

The one time I felt sick, the USAC office made an appointment for me same day to see an English speaking doctor. There were no major health issues for studying in Spain. The only vaccines recommended were the standard ones you get in the US.

* Safety:

I never had any problems with the police or with crime.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Weekly living wasn't very expensive. I spent most of my money on either rent or travelling.

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

Our program offered intensive spanish courses at all levels that met 4 times a week. It was a great way to really get confident in the language.
