About

After completing online curriculum, begin your travels in the capital city of Managua. Gain a deeper understanding of the body and disabilities through experiential lessons about the causes, consequences, prognoses and treatment of diseases and injuries. Compare Nicaraguan health care with that of the US. Educational opportunities include, but are certainly not limited to, training with a rural volunteer fire department, touring hospitals, working in a pharmacy, shadowing physicians, staying with a host family (two nights), learning how to make burn therapy dressings, working with children with disabilities, and more.  Cultural excursions include: Masaya Volcano and National Park, local markets, zipline, boating on Lake Nicaragua, tours of the historic cities of Granada and Leon.
