About

Unlike big city colleges, Argyll College UHI is a network of smaller learning centres located in your local community. With smaller class sizes, we get to know you as a person, not just a number. In that way we can support you through the ups and downs of life at university.

Argyll College UHI's network of local learning centres are located throughout mainland Scotland and islands of Argyll, including the towns of Oban, Lochgilphead, Helensburgh, Campbeltown, and Dunoon as well as the isles of Islay, Rothesay and Arran. Some of our centres offer specialist facilities: our Oban Centre is home to a purpose-built professional kitchen where hospitality students get hands on practical experience, as well as the Sound Studio and the Hair & Beauty Salon which is open to the public. This centre also has a garden where green fingered horticulture students can get their hands dirty. The Construction, Engineering and Renewables Centre (CERC) in Lochgilphead, offers a range of construction and engineering training opportunities. Study abroad students are taught alongside local and international students, and more information on course selection and application procedures can be found on our website.

With its spectacular scenery and idyllic islands, the Argyll region is the ideal setting to escape and explore. Often called Scotland’s Adventure Coast, you’ll find 23 inhabited islands and iconic Scottish wildlife, including puffins, seals, golden eagles and more along 3700km of stunning coastline. Outdoor activities are limitless with world renowned sea kayaking, golfing, sailing and fishing for adventure lovers. Or to take in another side of Scottish life and culture, explore the more than 100 local galleries, shops, museums and art trails.

When students wish to explore further afield, nearby Glasgow Airport offers daily flights throughout the UK, Europe and internationally.
