Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The teaching habits of professors in Spain in very different from the U.S. I had no text books to use for reference. I solely had the notes I took in class to study from. I find that both old school and difficult after coming from an American university.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

SO UNORGANIZED. I had to change all of my classes once I began here and now they still have no idea how to enroll me in one of my classes.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived with three Spanish men who were locals here in Mallorca

* Food:

such different food. I miss the US!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

there were only one or two trips already organzied by the program

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If they talked about health, it was in spanish and im not sure what was said.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $75 american dollars
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? You're going to go out and party a lot. more than you do back home. and it gets expensive

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Fluent
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? Span- 202
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Teachers, students, friends. Most people did speak english which was unfortunate because it was more difficult to practice spanish then.
