During the time of the visit I was finishing up my second year of German, and I had read extensively about the culture, all of which helped me adjust rather quickly.

Berlin is a safe city and is like any metropolis; youneed to avoid seedy areas at night.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Definitely try street food; it's a cheap alternative to places charging 10 euros and up. A doner kebap is only 3 or 4 euros.
