It was interesting to see what another culture values. Food and leisure time are a huge deal in France, and it really made me take a good hard look at myself and what I think is important.

I think 3rd year accounting students should be warned that it might be a good idea to take intermediate accounting the Spring before the program. I haven't taken it yet and felt a little overwhelmed at times. It was a little daunting trying to learn about US-European differences when I hadn't even learned about what some of those things are. |

* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Residence Vivaldi. Had a double room with a desk, bathroom with small shower, kitchen with stove and fridge. Had some pots and pans so we could cook. Grocery store was conveniently located across the street. <br /><br /> Dorm was nice but wish it was a little closer to school and everything else. Linen service was kind of spotty; some people didn't get clean sheets the whole time there. No AC in the dorm so a lot of people ended up buying fans. |

The school cafeteria is really cheap, but I got really sick of it. Eating out and trying French food was fun. My roommate and I got hooked on canned ravioli for a cheap meal. |

Heard that pickpocketing is a bigger issue in Europe than back home. Got a crossbody purse and really didn't have any problems. Felt safe in Paris. |

| Comments: | It was cool how we had 4 teachers with different areas of expertise. All of the teachers were incredibly knowledgeable, and it was a good wakeup call to realize that I pretty much know nothing about international business practices in other countries. |

| Comments: | Course was challenging, but manageable so we could still spend plenty of time frolicking around the city. Both professors had well prepared plans for the classes. The field trips were interesting, but the one to Ernst and Young seemed kind of pointless. It was frustrating to have to sit through 2 hours of listening to basic stuff that pretty much everyone has already heard dozens of times during recruiting. I can only imagine how the 7 or so people who did their internships at E&Y felt having to listen to that. Everyone participated in class a LOT more than they would have at home, but then again a large part of our grade was connected to class participation. |
