About

PUC Chile offers UT students the opportunity to take a variety of university courses, taught in Spanish, alongside local students. An intensive pre-semester in Spanish is also available for additional language preparation. A limited number of classes are available in English. The PUC, founded in 1888, has nearly 20,000 undergraduates and 3,500 graduate students each year. Academic departments are divided between four separate campuses throughout the city.

Santiago, the capital, has a population of more than 6 million. Chile has tremendous geographic diversity, from the northern Atacama Desert to frigid Patagonia in the south (complete with penguins).

Participants earn UT in-residence credit. All grades earned for the courses undertaken are computed into the official UT Austin GPA, just as they would be for grades earned in courses taken on campus.
