Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I loved the school, the professors and my peers. The level of interest, information and attention to the subject material. I wish I could have stayed at UTS for the remainder of my education, it was that good.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I found housing for myself when I arrived in Australia. I found it on Gumtree (the Australian version on craigslist). I lived in a small house in the suburb of Newtown with 3 Australian locals. They were out of school and worked full time so my experience with them was different to than my experience with my classmates.

* Food:

I am a good cook :)

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

nothing. I did it all myself and enjoyed every moment. There is so much to to around Sydney that I barely had time to leave. Also the scenery in Australia as a country is so beautiful that not seeing it is a crime in itself.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

It is a city - like any city - just don't be stupid.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? no - the cost of living in Australia is very high - especially Sydney. Just expect to spend a lot when you are there. If you want to cut costs, choose a different city or country.

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
