I did NOT do guaranteed student accommodation at Urbanest, as it was $1400 per month for a cramped living space. I stayed in a hostel for 3 weeks while arranging to live in a shared flat.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • focused on writing papers
  • class was not mandatory
  • proximity to the beach
* What could be improved?
  • cheaper student accommodation
  • student IDs weren't received until late March
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I should have opened a Bank of America account, which would have allowed me to withdraw money from Westpac ATMs without losing out on the exchange rate.

The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
