Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I love the Spanish teachers!!

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I loved the University of Salamanca professors. They were fun, and I felt comfortable with them. I felt at home in less than a week of study.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

It was nice! I got used to daily cleaning of my room :)

* Food:

It was not very good at the dorm, went out to eat a lot which cost money

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

None arranged by the program!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

In Spain, if someone does not know where to direct you to go when you ask for directions, they make it up. One night I was constantly told wrong directions, and walked for 5 hours. It was a horrible experience. Carry a map!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

I practiced language with the locals. In my spare time I spoke in spanish to the local people of Salamanca. I preferred speaking spanish with the local people, as other students spoke either improperly or were very strict on speaking in 100% correct spanish, which was a process as I was learning intermediate spanish.
