What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
My time spent abroad was neither fantastic nor was it is horrible. It was interesting but nothing life changing. After studying abroad, I am more appreciative of the benefits of living in the United States, which include not having to pay to use the restroom or having sidewalks. Studying abroad made me more understanding of how foreigners feel like in our country when thy do not understand what we are talking about and how difficult it is to communicate with others. I plan on pursuing a MD/PhD and studying abroad did not change my academic interests or future plans.
