I learned how to have better classroom management and came home with new ideas for teaching my own classroom. I also gained a better sense of the Chinese culture and feel more experienced in terms of international education.

The stipend helped during the first part of the trip and during the teaching portion, however I felt it could have been more during the teaching portion as we were working day and night, 24/7 for three weeks. I had ran out of money by the time we reached Hong Kong for four days, so that was all out of my own pocket. |

| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Save money ahead of time and set aside a budget specifically for the trip, this way you know how much you should be spending on everything while abroad. China is very cheap, but when you eat out, buy souvenirs, and do activities, it all adds up. The exchange rate was better in Hong Kong, however being more a tourist destination, the prices were raised more than in mainland China, so definitely set aside money to spend in Hong Kong. |
