What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned to live in the moment while in China due to my limited time there. It was definitely worthwhile and I would do it all again!

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

We were housed in a very nice on-campus hotel

* Food:

The University tried to accommodate our American tastes, albeit unsuccessfully, but when they did make authentic Chinese food, it was very good!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

It seemed as though we were secluded on campus and it would have been nice to have more opportunities to leave campus and enjoy Chinese life.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

A part of the teaching stipend is distributed while in China and costs to us were limited. The only time that I really spent much of any money was at the end when we time for shopping.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I would have known the amount of after class activities that were involved in the program because there was a lot of after class activities that I was required to go to.
