Learning from London Past Review

By (Albright College) - abroad from 01/14/2017 to 05/27/2017 with

University of Nicosia - Global Semesters: Nicosia - Semester in Europe (Multi-country)

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned how to live on my own and how to handle my spending and finances. I also learned a lot about public transportation and traveling. This experience is definitely worthwhile because most people don't get to see the world until after they retire.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Compared to my home university the overall workload was significantly less at the University of Westminster, England. What we learned was excellent but our knowledge was not tested as vigorously as I am used to.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Health Care:

* Safety:

I was in London during the Westminster bridge terror attack, and all the officials and police worked to make the city feel very safe. Also the university I went to was very secure with ID access only into the buildings.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I have met amazing people over the four months that I spent abroad and I would choose London over and over again. It was byfar my favorite city in Europe and I would not have changed a thing!

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)
