A challenging 4 months that taught me patience, grace and gifted me fluency Past Review

By (Brandeis University) - abroad from 01/23/2019 to 05/12/2019 with

University of Minnesota: Language & Culture in Southern France

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Patience in nuanced cultural differences, complete fluency in the french language, an appreciation for a more old-fashioned, graceful and conservative culture. It was absolutely worth while but not at all what I expected it to be.

The Nearly Native or Trail Blazer
Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'
