What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
the experience was incredible and definitely taught me a lot! i found it surprisingly challenging to adapt to such a large university setting but i learned how to be independent and (most importantly!) to make friends and meet people very intentionally which is a wonderful skill to build. my classes were super interesting (their foreign language department is seriously FANTASTIC!) but you definitely have to stay on top of the material quite independently. melbourne is one of the most wonderful cities i've been to -- full of culture and soul and friendly, lively people. great food, great bars, great parks, great museums, tons of free events (check out student artist exhibitions!). and the whole of australia is a magical place to get to know (and call home for a few months!).
