University Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée was founded in 1991 as a result of government investment into higher education. It is located in Champs-sur-Marne, on the site of Cité Descartes where you can also find  Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and Ecole supérieure d’ingénieur en électronique et électrotechnique. Besides research, the university’s main goal is to develop for each student their employability skills. this is why UPEMLV offers more than 60 degrees open to professional training and has over 2,300 apprentices, ranking on this point as the first French university.
