What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned about myself and other people. I was able to see the world from a new perspective. I learned that people are very different, but also very different. I learned how to be positive and persevere through rough situations. It was more than worthwhile.

  • The weather
* What could be improved?
  • More organized excursions
  • More complete information about classes beforehand
  • I could have stayed longer
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Life is Ghana is different than life in the US. Be prepared to flex and flow when plans change. Ghana time is less precise than US time. Bring lots of sandals. You might wear out a pair or two while abroad. There is a lot to adjust to, but if you keep a positive attitude the experience will be extraordinary and satisfying and worthwhile.

Reasons For Studying Abroad

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
