Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload wasn't very heavy and I rarely had homework. However, that meant that almost all of our grade was based on the final, which was very stressful. I personally did not care for the teaching methods of the Fachhochschule.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

They were very helpful towards the end of my stay, but throughout the semester they were not helpful at all and didn't care if we were having problems with teachers.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

All of the exchange students are placed in the "old dorms" which are just a few blocks away from the school. Each student gets their own bedroom, but they share a bathroom and kitchen with one othe student. I liked the setup and I had a very nice roommate. The lady in charge of the dorms was very rude, but nothing can be changed about that. Since it is an international school, there were students from all over the world living together which was pretty cool.

Sheets, bed, desk,closet and cabinet came with the room and evertying else needed to be bought.

* Food:

The school had a cafeteria, but not many exchange students ate there regularily. We mostly bought our own groceries and made our own meals daily. We would also order pizza a lot.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The exchange students took a trip to Budapest, Hungary our second weekend there. That was a lot of fun. Other field trips we took were snowboarding and a bike trip. Our last trip was cancelled.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Most of my money was spent on travel.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
