What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Yes. If you go during the Spring, you have a 3 week Spring break which provided me with time to travel across Ireland for a week and backpack throughout Europe for 2 weeks.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The Quinn School of Business provided a great opportunity to learn about international business at Ireland's largest university. While the grading structure was weighted differently than a traditional university, about 70% of a student's final grade comes from the final exam, the topics, discussions and assignments were fantastic.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The study abroad staff at the UCD Quinn school of business were great. There were weekly meetings to address any concerns and to update the students on outings and trips. There were multiple outings to see historical sites that were a great experience.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Half the students in the Bentley program live on-campus and the other half live off-campus. The off-campus accommodations are right in the city and are generally really large apartments. The on-campus apartments are small, cold and a bus ride away from the city.

* Food:

Irish food is good. I never ate in the UCD cafeteria, just made food in my apartment.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

There were other universities in our program such as BC, BU, Fordham, Duke etc. There were a lot of social events, parties and pub crawls.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Health and safety was never an issue.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

Language acquisition improvement?

The one downside to studying in Ireland is the inability to practice a second language frequently as one would in Spain, France, Germany etc.

Direct Enrollment/Exchange

* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? Direct Enrollment

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? This program is a lot of fun but it is also much harder academically than some of the other programs Bentley offers (Australia and Vienna are a joke). That said, I only had classes 3 days a week and also had a 3 week Spring break.
