Definitely worthwhile. I was able to travel to multiple South-Eastern Asian countries that I wouldn't have been able to otherwise. I was also able to eat a lot of great food. - Tufts University View Entire Review
Absolutely! I learned SO much about Asia and the Chinese life style and had a great time! - Tufts University View Entire Review
It was definitely a worthwhile experience. The program gives you the opportunity to really explore Hong Kong and parts of China. HKU itself was not that impressive, but the location was amazing. Being in Hong Kong also gave me a new perspective on what it means to be Asian and American in an Asian country. It takes some getting ... - Tufts University View Entire Review
Absolutely. This is all very cliche, but I got so much more self sufficient living on my own in a completely different place, and so much more self confident. And I got to travel so much and have so many amazing once in a life time experiences - Tufts University View Entire Review

Past Review Very Memorable
I think i learned a lot from going abroad and it was extremely worthwhile. My favorite part of the program was the reading period during which we had time for traveling. Asia is also pretty cheap so there is some more freedom in that regard. My view of the world definitely changed thanks to that semester. - Tufts University View Entire Review

Yes. It was great to be in a somewhat westernized city that is still very Chinese so that I could gain a better understanding of the world's newest superpower. Also just a fantastic city in general. I'd love to return there to work. - Tufts University View Entire Review
I got to understand who I am and what kind of people I can be in small groups with. I also traveled on my own a few times, and learned that I can withstand almost anything. - Tufts University View Entire Review

If you want to be immersed in the culture, you have to actively seek out opportunities. It's very... - Tufts University View Entire Review

About

Hong Kong, an affluent modern city of more than seven million, offers visitors a unique blend of Eastern history and Western influence. Returned to China in July 1997 after more than 150 years as a British Crown Colony, Hong Kong continues to enjoy a high degree of autonomy as a Special Administrative Region.

The Tufts-in-Hong Kong program is affiliated with the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and offered for the spring semester. HKU evolved from the former Hong Kong College of Medicine, which was instituted in 1887. Since its official opening in 1912, the University has embodied the pioneering spirit of Hong Kong. It remains at the forefront of breakthroughs in medical and scientific research. HKU has a student population of around 23,000, with about 3,300 international students.
