Past Review Talloires
I was able to practice my French and learn about French cooking and culture, go hiking in the Alps, learn about environmental economics and about Roman history. It was definitely worthwhile. - Brandeis University View Entire Review
This program solidified my academic interests, gave me a new perspective on environmentalism, fueled my love of the outdoors, and helped me to create lasting friendships. Talloires is a magical place and this is an incredibly well-run program. This program is one of the most memorable parts of my Tufts experience, and was an imp... - Tufts University View Entire Review

I made an amazing amount of friends from my home school and I'm looking forward to spending time with them on campus. - Tufts University View Entire Review
Yes. I learned so much about myself and French culture. Being out of my comfort zone and losing my "voice", so to speak, made me find creative ways to communicate. I gained much confidence in my ability to adapt to new situations and navigate foreign places, and confidence in myself as a traveler and explorer - of places and of ... - Tufts University View Entire Review

Absolutely. I learned a lot and gained an amazing appreciation for another place by delving into French culture. My classes were great and the Community Health class in particular formed a foundation for the rest of my academic career. Finally, 3 of my best friends today are Talloires friends...we would NOT have met otherwise. - Tufts University View Entire Review
Entirely worthwhile. Learned a lot about French and European culture in a really experiential and lasting way. Made some excellent friends... even meeting up with the host family when they come to NYC in a few weeks. I would do it again 100 times over. - Brandeis University View Entire Review

I can't possibly sum up everything I've learned in a few sentences, but I will say that I have changed dramatically because of this program. I've realized that I've taken certain American offerings for granted, but also that there are other options to cultural aspects of America that I dislike. What's also great is the program l... - Tufts University View Entire Review

It was definitely worthwhile. I loved the readings I was given in my classes, I loved the atmosphere, the people, the food (soooooooooooooooo indescribably delicious), the language. I loved everything about it. - Abroad101 University View Entire Review
This was my first time studying abroad and the first time I had really left my comfort zone for an extended period. I was so glad that I chose to do this program after my Freshman year, as I was able to apply the confidence, intellectual curiosity, and global competence that I gained as a result of this program to my remaining ... - Tufts University View Entire Review

About

Tufts in Talloires, a six-week summer program for college students from Tufts and other universities, offers students a dynamic group of courses taught by Tufts faculty. Students enrolled in this program choose two courses from a selection of undergraduate offerings — most of which are taught in English. Courses are designed to take advantage of Talloires’ ideal location in the center of Europe, as well as its striking alpine setting, which inspires reflection and thought. Talloires’ proximity to the important international center of Geneva allows students to venture out of the classroom and benefit from visits to a multitude of international organizations, museums, and historical monuments in the area. In addition to coursework, a wide variety of optional outdoor activities, weekly hikes into the Alps, field trips, and organized events offer each student the opportunity to explore the unique Haute Savoie region of France. Students enjoy one-on-one interaction with their professors within the classroom and during field trips and other cultural excursions.
