Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The academic rigor was very great, as well as the resources to learn. Besides the drumming and dancing, there was something for everyone to study.

The instructor from UMass and the instructors in the village were very helpful, organized, and efficient.

The food was great!

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Living in the village was a complete cultural immersion, one that I had not really had during other trips to study abroad.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I was fortunate enough to not get sick while in Ghana, but the needs of those who did get sick were treatetd with high priority by the instructor.

* Safety:

I felt completely safe in the village and dorm.

All courses were taught in English, but we did learn short phrases in the Ewe language.
