My abroad experience absolutely impacted my cultural awareness, it really made me appreciate and value the life i have and the educational opportunities that have been awarded to me.

Faculty leader did an incredible job, very knowledgeable of Ghana and the music we were learning. Nothing but kind and understanding and paid attention to the individual needs of everyone on the trip. Would go out of his way to make sure that everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves at all times throughout the trip.

Be open to new things, they food is very good.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

A memorable cultural event for me would have to be the Ghanian funeral that we were able to attend. It is a celebration of life very different from what we do as Americans, and I will for ever remember my experience.

Overall safety was great, nothing to worry about, very comfortable.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Step out of your comfort zone and live life. College provides amazing opportunities, don't let them pass you by.
