The University of New South Wales: Sydney - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I have an album with 2000+ pictures and a 50 page book describing my everyday experiences- words canNOT explain my time abroad, you just have to see it for yourself and it's a guarantee life changing journey. By seeing the other side of the world and seeing life there- there is no doubt that personal views are expanded and changed for the better... forever. When else are you going to have this much time to explore the world???

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I was in the art school, COFA [college of the fine arts] and I only have AMAZING, FABULOUS, GREAT GREAT GREAT things to say about my experience there.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Everyone was really helpful.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

It was so awesome to live with Australians because without them I would not have even known where to find my first class. Also, it was extremely helpful when it came to travel! Living with students from surrounding countries made planning trips and deciding where to go and what to do that much better. I went to Australia for the aussie experience, and that is exactly what I got when living with Australians!!!!! No one knows their country better than they do.

It was perfect and what I needed when I was so far from home.

* Food:

I was provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner + snacks and packed lunches for class.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I was on the basketball team for my dorm/college and I'm not a super bball player, but I love sports and it was an oppertunity to do something I love, and get to know the people I was living with on a more personal level

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I felt 100% safe, 100% of the time.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? it depends where I was and when because the dollar changed throughout the trip
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? put money aside for travel.
