The Intern Group: Dublin Internship Placement Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned how to put myself out there and get out of my comfort zone. In particular to my internship, I learned so many valubale skills with regards to non-profit work and how these organizations operate. I got to have a feel of what work life could be like for me in the future. It was definitely worth a while, because I got a sense of clarity with regards to what I want to/don't want to do with my future.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • There was so much flexibility, which allowed me to shape my own experience and time in Dublin.
  • The program was very organized and it was clear what we
* What could be improved?
  • There is nothing that I can think of that can be particularly improved. However, I would suggest having another session ( a couple of weeks after the orientation session) that can act as a check-in point with how things are going within the internship and how things that we talked about during our first session are being applied in the work place. At this point, everyone would be a lot more familiar with each other and discussion should flow to help us gain the best from our internships/culture experience.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I knew that I was going to be confident and okay with being in a new country for 3 months and not let my anxiety take over. Dublin is not the cheapest city in the world and it is easy to lose track of your finances so budgeting is important.

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
