The GREEN Program: Iceland - Sustainability and Renewable Energy Abroad
What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
The experience was beyond worthwhile. I learned so much about a new culture, new people and about myself. I learned not to give up on my sustainability driven career goals. I learned the importance of working with others and what can be accomplished with driven people and a common goal. I also learned that Iceland is absolutely, unexplainably beautiful.

| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Iceland is an expensive country in general. You need to go expecting to spend a lot of additional money. do not take taxis, use the bus system. Stay at hostels and guest houses |

Everyone in Iceland speaks English. It was encouraged and for us to try to pronounce the words and learn simple things like numbers and phrases in Icelandic for the short time we were there. |
