I gained a lot of confidence from knowing I could take care of myself without the aid of my parents. I was happy to have improved my language skills and made friends with a number of interesting and supportive people. I had a lot of fun and would absolutely do it over again. - SUNY Purchase View Entire Review
Studying abroad completely changed my life. Paris is just beautiful, and you will never get bored there. I am planning to go back for a year after I graduate. You grow a lot as a person from living abroad (basically on your own), and your French will improve enormously. - Tufts University View Entire Review
Firstly, my French improved ten-fold. I have always longed to travel but now it is more of a priority. I also have a much better understanding of France and how France views itself and other countries. I also have a much better perception of the US and how lucky we are to be Americans. - SUNY - College at Oswego View Entire Review
- it was absolutely rewarding and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Who would not want to spend five months in the beautiful city of Paris, surrounded by such friendly people? I have learned many new things about a very interesting culture, and have experienced things that many people do not experience in their whole lifetime.... - SUNY - Binghamton View Entire Review
I learned a lot of little differences that I didn't know existed. I learned a lot of French. I made a bunch of friends but other than that it's hard to nail down exactly what I gained from it right at this moment. - SUNY - Binghamton View Entire Review

About

The Oswego-Binghamton-Geneseo Paris program, established in 1969, is the oldest undergraduate overseas French program in the SUNY system. The program provides an enriching academic experience through exposure to noted French professors and the vast cultural resources of Paris. Although greater proficiency in French is the common goal of all participants, not all participants are French majors. Students follow a curriculum at the Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne based on their preparation in French, interests, and the results of evaluation tests that are given upon their arrival in Paris. Students of all French language levels are welcome to apply and follow the English option, no experience necessary. Upon successful completion of course work, students will receive a Certificat/Diplome of Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne.
