It was worthwhile. I just wished it was longer and when we arrived, it was not during the Shenzhen Univeristy's finals week. - SUNY - Binghamton View Entire Review

Absolutely worthwhile. China is going to impact the world politically, socially, economically, and culturally. It was very important to travel there and gain a sense of what challenges they face, and what opportunities they have for their own people. - SUNY - Binghamton View Entire Review

Absolutely worth while. Immersingmyself into another culture is the easiest and most exciting way to learn about it. - SUNY - Binghamton View Entire Review

About

The College of Community and Public Affairs again offers a faculty-led tour to China. This tour is part of a 4-credit course which is suitable for undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in learning about the opportunities and challenges facing modern China. The program gives students the chance to learn about Chinese culture in both an academic setting and first-hand experiences, through seminars led by Shenzhen University faculty on topics ranging from China’s economy to Chinese foreign policy, field trips to places such as the Shenzhen Museum, hands on activities such as calligraphy, and Mandarin language lessons. Program participants will also gain a valuable international perspective through their interactions with Shenzhen University students and administrators. In addition, students will explore topics related to Chinese public administration and political economy during seminar sessions led by BU Professor Tom Sinclair.
