What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
My study abroad experience has changed the way I look at things. I am extremely more grateful for the items and family that I have in my life. I learned and experienced so much more than I could have imagined.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I thought that the information that we learned while in Kenya was both beneficial and interesting. I enjoyed learning about the different majors information even though it was not in my area of study. The home stays that we went on during the first weekend was an interesting experience and I think that they should continue to do this in the future. It was great that we were able to go on our homestays with another student, I would not have liked it if I did not have someone I knew there with me.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The program was very good about teaching us new things about the country of Kenya and what they do there to learn about different subjects. The hosts were very kind and welcoming to all of us.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

We stayed in hostels on the university campus and it was more like a dorm room. They were quite nice and comfortable.

* Food:

The staff at the university was very nice about making sure that we had enough food. It was good food and there was definitely an abundance of it. It tasted good too.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The students on the campus of the universtiy were very warm and welcoming towards all of us. The first week we were there the students invited us to one of their drama clubs plays. It was very interesting and a great experience to be able to see how they interact and what their culture is like compared to us.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Safety was good. There was not very many times when I was worried about my safety.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)
