Difficulty immersed in the Kenyan culture. It was nice that the majority of people new english to communicate- but also taught us Swahili. Great group size. We were kept busy. The pharmacy was a little unorganized but we did our best to keep things straight.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Mixed with locals staying at the hostel. Not all toilets had seats or toilet paper. We did have mosquito netting and security guard at the gate.

* Food:

same food everyday, but that was what was available to us and safe to eat.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We went on a safari, visited an elephant orphanage, and went to a giraffe park were pet the giraffe.

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Food was prepared specially for us, we could only eat a certain places too with a limited menu.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Defiantly need medical background. Be patient and flexible- plans will change. This is an experience of a lifetime.
