Japan Study Abroad Reflections: Comprehensive Reviews of Past Programs

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned Japanese language and culture. I learned about hard work and preparation. I came to love my students and make lifelong friends. I learned how to teach to each student's needs. I also learned how to do a bunch of basic things in Japan--like ordering at restaurants, riding buses, subways, taxis, and trains, how to book hotels and hostels in Japan, and a variety of other life skills. I would not trade this experience for anything in the world.
