Study Abroad Programs in Italy

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I would not change it for the world. It was worth every penny.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

It was a great experience and the workload was reasonable with some free time to see the sights. The teachers were great but the organization could have been a bit better in the classroom. This is one experience I will never forget and it really made me want to get out and travel more often.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

The food was delicious but you might want to stay away from the seafood fettucini. It is really seafood not just shrimp, unless you like that kind of stuff that is.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

It was difficult at first because I was a little timid about saying something that might not be what I intended to say. The fear of messing up made it difficult in the beginning. I needed to use the language quite a bit because some of the people that I met didn't speak any English. A lot of the people there did try.
