It was vastly worthwhile in the lessons it taught me about living away from family, living in a different culture, and trying new ways of doing things. - Stephen F. Austin State University View Entire Review
I gained new friends. I had met some of the students before the trip, but I never would have gotten close to them without this opportunity. I gained new experiences. I love to travel, but I never would have seen Italy the way I saw it on this trip if I went by myself. I want to continue traveling in the future and this program w... - Stephen F. Worthwhile describes the bare minimum of this study abroad experience. Even the times of stress or anxiety provided learning moments for each of us as we depended on each other for comfort. We were exposed to immense history, art, and culture that cannot be achieved in another way. Experience is everything. Students cannot hope ... - Stephen F. Austin State University View Entire Review
I learned that not everything goes to plan and having patience when things don't go the way you expect. I also learned that Italians live for quality not quantity. It was 100% worth my money, time, and effort. - Stephen F. Austin State University View Entire Review
I gained a lot of perspective of the Italian culture and myself as a person. The Italian culture is so beautifully different from what I've been surrounded with in American culture; however it also made me appreciate my way of living more as well. I feel like this experience changed me for the better and catalyzed my growth into... - Stephen F. Austin State University View Entire Review
I learned that balance is really key to life, and to gain perspective you have to put yourself outside of your comfort zone, no matter how scary. It was definitely worthwhile. - Stephen F. Austin State University View Entire Review
I learned that I can be independent. I gained lifelong friends. I learned that I am worthy of lifelong friends. This program taught me not only about American political culture and how it affects me but also about myself. I am an anxious person, but this program made me step outside of my comfort zone so far that I crossed an oc... - Stephen F. Austin State University View Entire Review

Spend June 2022 in Italy! Live for a full month in a monastery in Perugia. Share group “garden to table,” freshly cooked, Italian meals – that is when you’re not eating freshly made pasta or pizza in town.

Perugia is located a few hours train ride between Rome and Florence. It is big enough to have plenty to do (nearly 175,000 people), yet small enough to avoid being overwhelmed. And of course, Rome and Florence can be reached in a few hours by train.

We will have classes four days a week, beginning at 10:00 am. We will break for lunch at noon and eat together as a group. Then we’ll have a shorter session in the afternoon, and you’ll be off to explore by 2:30.

On certain weekends we will travel. We will have a guided tour Rome. This will include a guided tour of the Vatican! In the evenings you can stroll the streets, see the fountains, and savor the gelato.

On another weekend we will travel to Naples by the sea and visit Pompei.

The history, the food, the city and the countryside.  This will be a study abroad trip to remember!
