About

This course will explore the Dominican Republic educational system through service learning. Dare to Dream, a Study Abroad Program, will offer students the opportunity to participant in service learning primarily through serving the children in need in the Dominican Republic.  The Dare to Dream program specifically focuses on bringing out the very best in Monte Cristi's orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children.  Through innovative English and Spanish lessons that use song and dance to teach students, students will help raise literacy rates and self-confidence in a small coastal town. The ultimate goal of the program is to help Dominican Republic students pursue college degrees or reach employment upon adulthood.
