Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA): Doing Business in the Former Eastern Block Maymester Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned about the different culture and history Europe has. I loved going to different businesses to learn how they operate and visiting old buildings like the cathedrals.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 150
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Having a set budget for each week helped make sure I did not over spend. A $100-$150 worked very well for me each week for food and gifts. Walking to most places saved money on transportation but subways and trams are the cheapest transportation compared to how much a taxi can cost.

Reasons For Studying Abroad

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
