Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Classes and papers were not hard but you have to read a ton.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The Administration was good if you directly contacted them and told them what you needed.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

All the international students lived together in the halls with the freshmen. I wish we could live with upper classmen but we had our own room and bathroom. The laundry room was a long walk from the dorms.

* Food:

British food in general is not that great. They eat a ton of potatos.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The British are really awesome people but you have to make an effort to be friends with them. They really like going out to clubs or pubs, so that's the best way to get to know them.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I had an awful experience with healthcare after I had bed bugs, I was covered from head to toe in bed bug bites and it took the school 3 days to move me out of my room. They also did not help me get medical attention. PLEASE remember that you have health insurance and use it!

* Safety:

I was never concerned about my safety.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I wish PC would have told me that lunch was not covered in their meal plan.

* Was housing included in your program cost? Yes
* Was food included in your program cost? Yes
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 15-20 pounds
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Don't go to the clubs every weekend.
