Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

culturally different methodology and pedagogy. more emphasis on memorization, and not much critical thinking, analyzing or even questioning. usually just took what the professor said.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

bureaucratic, unhelpful.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

paris is a cool city. not really because of all the toursity sites but because of the variety you find in each part of the city. it's a fun city to discover.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

like any big metropolitan city.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? hmm.. you can keep a student budget in paris if you know how and where and when to shop.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? apply for CAF-- it's govt subsidies for student housing. eat at the CROUS, and there are usually a lot of lunch specials in paris. of course, cheapest is to make your own meals, and supermarkets are your best shot.
