SAI invites students to experience world-class fashion education by studying at the Rome campus of Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA). NABA was founded in Milan, Italy in 1980 and is the only design school in Italy accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education. NABA Rome holds true to NABA’s teaching methods that stress cultural, theoretical, and practical aspects of design and seek to put students in constant contact with companies and professionals.
SAI oversees and coordinates all aspects of student enrollment, including application processing, course selection and credit, visa advising, housing, student health insurance, and transcripts. In addition, SAI provides comprehensive student services, from the moment of application, through the on-site experience, until students return home.
SAI's summer programs at NABA Rome include 4 and 6 week options which focus on visual and graphic arts, fashion, and multimedia arts. In its Rome location, NABA Rome students are able to take advantage of the various unique exhibitions and festivals that make the city a bustling center for art and design.
In addition to supporting students throughout their stay in Rome, SAI’s on site staff also coordinates a range of activities and excursions throughout the term, including a walking tour of Rome, a visit to the Colosseum by night, a wine tasting excursion, and much more. SAI students in Rome experience the overlapping cultural currents which flow through this ancient city; from its origins as a small settlement on the banks of the Tiber, to its modern status as one of the world’s most important cultural and political capitals.
