What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was absolutely worthwhile. I learned a lot about the Roman culture and history.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I stayed in the area of Trastevere when in Rome and I felt very safe most of the time. I always felt safe in the day and in my apartment. At night, I was always with one of my roommates, which makes you feel safer because it is not the best place to be walking around alone at night, as goes the same for any large city!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I thought the way SAI accommodated us when we were there was great. The staff abroad with us were so helpful and and nice. I loved the apartment I stayed in and overall loved Rome.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent a good amount of money each week, but I think this can be easily managed by reducing the amount I ate out.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Shopping is not as big of a deal as you may think it is and cooking at home saves money too.
