What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I liked the experience but not the program. Would for sure choose Florence again but not S.A.I.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

It was not challenging at all and the teachers were not available very often.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Admins were great!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I hated my apartment; I had a terrible landlord and there was absolutely no privacy, it was completely open. Also, I would have liked a less modern apartment and more traditionally decorated one.

* Food:

Gonzo food was alright but very overpriced and not flexible.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The trips were great!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Good overall.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

I learned most of my language from my day-to-day encounters. My teacher taught me almost nothing.
