Rollins College: London - London Internship Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Yes, it was the best experience of my life.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The academic system was good. Some thing were a little different to the American system, but we quickly adjusted. I didn't like how the majority of your grade depends on the final exam as opposed to American schools where you receive many little assignments that make up your grade.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

We had bed bugs and very bad internet. I know this isn't the hosts fault, but they could have tried a little harder to help us out in my opinion.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Everything was great about our apartment except for the bed bugs and terrible internet.

* Food:

England has some pretty terrible food unless you are willing to spend some money at high-end restaurants.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Traveling is really easy in Europe, but make sure you book in advance to save some money!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

They wouldn't let us onto our balcony for safety reasons.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $175
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Remeber that you must save money for your oyster card.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
