What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned and gained a lot from my experience abroad, I learned a lot about two cultures that I had never seen before and I learned what it was like to learn about engineering from a global perspective.

This program was a great experience to see many of the great sites in China and Japan while also learning a lot in the process.

Finances

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

These costs were outlined up front, so they weren't really a problem for me.

  • I had a minor problem with a transportation card that took a while to get resolved
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Nothing. The program was just as it should be, an experience that gets a person the opportunity to see two different cultures and how they behave in their daily lives as well as how they live.

The Academic or Linguist
You went abroad with specific academic goals in mind; the program credentials and rigor of your coursework abroad were very important to you. You had a great time abroad, but never lost sight of your studies and (if applicable) were diligent with your foreign language study. Good for you!
