Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Pre-departure course seemed too much of a paper work and assignments while getting ready for the conference.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Host country was Korea for the technology/business conference. While two presentations talked about Korea having the fastest internet to all the participants from all over the world, the presentation location failed to provide internet for us. My presentation wasn't able to retrieve resource from internet as pre-planned.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Hilton Hotel. Usually its name value conveys a picture.

* Food:

Nice food!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

It was a fun break!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

We purchased a short-term insurance.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? During the actual conference: $30, For the rest of the week, about $50.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? When you are away, one thing: eat the host country's food!

Individual Course Reviews

Course Name/Rating:

INTST 497A

Course Department: 469987
Instructor: Amanda Reinig
Instruction Language: English
Comments: Although some of the assignments seemed helpful, I felt like learning the basis of the language and trying to connect to foreigners through basic conversation, even. The whole point of the study abroad is to actually learn the culture and people. Though I appreciate learning other country through websites, the point is to go overseas and interact. Actually coming from Korea, there were few times I felt like the assignments weren't necessary.
Credit Transfer Issues: No issues.
