What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Overall, I think that when you study abroad you learn a lot about yourself and what actually makes you happy. You gain ideas about what type of lifestyle will bring you the most joy and contentment in the future. It's a great opportunity to become a more self-sufficient person.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

These were some of the best language classes I've ever taken - engaging, fun, intensive, and I made noticeable improvements in both my speaking and writing abilities.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The administrators were very approachable and eager to assist students in whatever fashion.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My host mom was fantastic and her apartment was very nice.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I would have liked to have learned more about Sevilla during class, but the cultural activities were great and the program offers an exchange option which pairs foreign students with locals in order to practice different languages.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I'm not quite sure how safe Sevilla actually is but no incidents occurred while I was there, and I never felt unsafe.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Don't buy a lot of cocktail drinks at bars if you're interested in saving money.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

I never spoke English at the school. Only Spanish.

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Advanced
How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? Advanced
How many hours per day did you use the language? 10+
Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? Force yourself to only speak in that language. The more you do that, the more comfortable you become.
