About

Binghamton has over 17,000 students who enjoy a broad range of course offerings. The university has earned national recognition for its strong academic programs, distinguished faculty, and talented students. Even though it is a well-regarded research university, Binghamton feels like a smaller school because of its residential structure. Its distinctive residential colleges and communities are led by tenured Collegiate Professors in concert with student affairs professional staff. The campus itself is in a suburban setting with a 182-acre nature preserve of forest and wetlands used for study and limited recreation. The campus also houses the area's largest performing arts center.
