What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned what it feels like to be in a culture that does not speak the same language as you do. I also learned how independent I can be, and would love to return to Mexico. While I was only there for 5 weeks, I feel a wonderful passion for the country.

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I think it would have been beneficial to use the "culture class" time to visit different areas in the Merida area and practice spanish with locals. Ex. Market, Zoo, etc.

My host mom was an amazing woman. She made me feel very at home by loving on me constantly and cooking amazing food!

I always felt safe, and the locals are very friendly!
