Students enrolled at the Universidad de la Rioja, Middlebury's host institution, immerse themselves in Spanish language, regional culture and cuisine. Logroño's lively population and relaxed pace of in a location with very few English-speakers.Students enroll directly at the Universidad de la Rioja in several disciplines alongside their Spanish students, with particular focus on Spanish philology, literature, humanities, and natural sciences.
