Designed for students at an advanced level of Spanish, the program structure of the School in Spain gives students the opportunity to perfect their Spanish competency through guided language immersion and facilitated social and cultural integration.

Logroño is a vibrant city of 110,000 located in the wine-making region of La Rioja, in the north-central part of Spain. The Castillian language has its roots in the area wanders through it. Students enrolled at the Universidad de la Rioja, Middlebury's host institution, immerse themselves in Spanish language, regional culture and cuisine. Logroño's lively population and relaxed pace of  in a location with very few English-speakers.Students enroll directly at the Universidad de la Rioja in several disciplines alongside their Spanish students, with particular focus on Spanish philology, literature, humanities, and natural sciences.
